OGITECH Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, Receives Prestigious ACE Excellence Award for Educational Leadership

The Rector of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, Dr. Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye, has been honoured with the prestigious ACE Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to educational administration and academic development in Nigeria.
The award was presented on May 22, 2026, during a high-profile ceremony held at Watercress Hotel and Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos. The event brought together distinguished personalities from various sectors, including industry leaders, philanthropists, innovators, and professionals whose work has positively impacted society.
Dr. Oluseye received the award in the category of Outstanding Administrator and Iconic Educationist, a recognition that highlights his commitment to educational excellence, institutional growth, and transformative leadership within Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
According to the organisers, the honour was awarded in recognition of Dr. Oluseye’s exceptional leadership, dedication to educational advancement, and unwavering efforts toward strengthening technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
Represented at the ceremony by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Hosu Mewhenu Peter, the Rector expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition. He described the award as both an honour and a motivation to continue championing reforms aimed at improving the quality and relevance of polytechnic education in the country.
Dr. Oluseye reiterated his commitment to promoting technical education as a critical driver of national development, innovation, and economic growth. He noted that countries with strong technological and industrial foundations place significant emphasis on technical and vocational education, a model Nigeria must continue to embrace in order to compete globally.
He explained that his passion for advancing practical and technology-driven education inspired the establishment of key innovation initiatives within OGITECH, including the Institute’s Robotics and Innovation Technology Centre. According to him, such initiatives are designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills and prepare them for emerging opportunities in the modern workforce.
“Our vision is to position OGITECH as a leading institution in driving the transformation of technical education in Nigeria. We believe that investing in practical knowledge, innovation, and technology is essential for national progress and global competitiveness,” he stated.
Speaking during the event, the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Magazine, Otunba Olumide Adeleke, said the ACE Excellence Awards were created to celebrate individuals whose contributions have made meaningful impacts in their respective fields.
He explained that the awards are designed to encourage excellence, inspire leadership, and recognise Nigerians who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to service and national development.
Otunba Adeleke further stressed that the selection process remains transparent and strictly merit-based.
“This award is not for sale. It is a platform established to identify and celebrate genuine achievers whose work continues to inspire others and contribute to societal progress,” he said.
The recognition of Dr. Abiodun Oluseye further reinforces his growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading education administrators and a strong advocate for innovation-driven learning, institutional development, and technical education reform.
