NASU Inaugurates Pioneer Caretaker Committee at Federal Polytechnic Monguno


The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) has commenced a new phase at the Federal Polytechnic Monguno following the successful inauguration of its pioneer Caretaker Committee.
The inauguration ceremony was conducted by the National Representative of NASU, Comrade Musa Chiroma, National Secretary, alongside the Borno State Chairman of the union, Comrade Kulo Sheriff, in collaboration with the Management of the Federal Polytechnic Monguno.
Top management officials of the institution were present at the event, including the Rector, Engr. Prof. Garba M. Ngala; the Registrar, Adamu Alhaji Usman; the Bursar, Abadam Mohammed Ali; the Polytechnic Librarian, Zainab Usman Mahmood; and the Deputy Rector, Musa Mohammed Grandawa.
The ceremony formally marked the induction of the newly constituted NASU Caretaker Committee, signaling what stakeholders described as a fresh beginning for organized non-academic staff representation within the institution.
At the event, Comrade Saleh Kachallah was sworn in as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, while Comrade Sadiq Alhaji Hussaini emerged as Secretary-General. Comrade Abubakar Mahmood Bashir was also inaugurated as Treasurer, alongside other committee members.
The newly inaugurated leadership is expected to focus on advancing the welfare, unity, and collective interests of non-academic staff of the Federal Polytechnic Monguno, while fostering constructive engagement with management.
In his remarks, the Rector, Engr. Prof. Garba Mohammed Ngala, congratulated the Caretaker Committee members and described the inauguration as a major step toward strengthening industrial harmony in the institution. He urged the committee to discharge its responsibilities with dedication, unity, and integrity.
The Rector further assured the new NASU leadership of the full support of the institution’s management in promoting staff welfare, peaceful labor relations, and overall institutional stability.
The inauguration has been widely welcomed by staff as a positive development aimed at enhancing cooperation and ensuring effective representation of non-academic employees at the Federal Polytechnic Monguno.
