LASUSTECH GIFTS PALLIATIVES TO ARAROMI OKEGBEGUN & LAMBO LASUNWON COMMUNITIES

In a bid to contribute its quota towards community development and also ease the sufferings caused by the economic situation, the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the management donated palliatives to the Araromi – Okegbegun and Lambo Lasunwon host communities of the University respectively on Thursday 16th November,2023.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya appreciated the communities for accepting them and the token donated to them. He explained that the motive was to contribute the University’s quota towards the communities development and also support the elderly in the communities.
“The University is not just about education but impacting lives of those around and creating means to end or reduce poverty to its barest minimal. It’s a fact that Universities develops Communities that houses them, to this end, we want our University to be impactful and we hope to make it continuous” he said.
He further implored the communities to help take care of the students, adding that the communities are their parents as long as they still study in the University.
Responding, the two Baales Chief Atobajaye Tajudeen and Chief Olaiyiwola Idris of Araromi Okegbegun and Lambo Lasunwon Communities appreciated the VC and the University Community for the gesture.
They both remarked that the communities are indeed thankful and happy for the gesture. One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Onileowo Opeyemi applauded the gesture pointing out that it’s a wonderful and confirmed Corporate Social Responsibility.
“I want to appreciate the management for considering our community and I must tell you that it’s the first of its kind from the University” he said.
