LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS DIVISION, HOLDS PRE-MOBILISATION SENSITISATION PROGRAMME

The Students’ Affairs Division of Lagos State University (LASU) recently organised a Pre-Mobilisation Sensitisation Programme for final-year students at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo. The event took place on Monday, 8th July 2024.
The programme was aimed to educate and prepare the students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation exercise.
The Acting Dean, Students’ Affairs Division, Dr Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, in his opening remarks, represented by the Deputy Registrar, Mr Abdulahmeed Lawal, emphasised the importance of the sensitisation programme. He urged the participants to pay close attention and take advantage of the knowledge shared during the event.
The programme featured several presentations from distinguished speakers. The Assistant Director of Deployment and Relocation at the NYSC Secretariat in Surulere, Lagos, Mr Olukayode Osinubi, delivered a talk on the “Highlights of Pre-Mobilisation Brief to Prospective Corps Members and Expectations at the orientation camps and service zones.”
The ICT Desk Officer at the NYSC Secretariat, Surulere, Lagos, Mr Claudius Akosile, provided guidelines on “Online Registration and other NYSC Related Issues.” His presentation aimed to equip the students with the necessary information to navigate the registration process successfully.
The Admission Officer/Deputy Registrar, LASU, Mr. Kabiru O. Okugbesan, addressed the “Hindrances associated with the mobilisation process.” He highlighted common challenges that students may encounter during the mobilisation exercise and offered insights on how to overcome them.
The final presentation was delivered by the Manager, Learning and Development at Nestle Nigerian Plc, Mrs Florence Adetola-Alao, Her talk focused on “How to Build a Winning Résumé,” providing valuable tips and strategies for crafting an impressive CV.
The Head, NYSC Mobilisation Unit, Students’ Affairs, LASU, Mrs N.A. Yusuf extended gratitude on behalf of the university and expressed appreciation to all attendees. The programme was well-attended, reflecting the students’ keen interest in preparing for their future endeavors.
The Pre-Mobilisation Sensitisation Programme will continue tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th July 2024, at the University College of Medicine, Ikeja (LASUCOM). Additionally, there will be a session at the Epe Campus on Thursday, 11th July 2024.
