IMAP TO COMMENCE HND IN MASS COMMUNICATION SOON AS ACTING RECTOR INSPECTS FACILITIES


In view of the expected visit of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) team for the accreditation and re-accreditation of various courses, the Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia, Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata has visited the Department of Mass Communication to inspect the state-of-the-art facilities of the department for the successful commencement of Higher National Diploma (HND) in the department.
Dr. Maifata said with the resource assessment and accreditation of the department for full-time programme by the NBTE, courses would be run smoothly.
He made the disclosure after the inspection of the multi-million Naira state-of-the-art equipment in the department, Wednesday.
He tasked the consulting engineers to be up and running in fixing the necessary amenities to meet up with the requirements set by the regulatory body.
He expressed absolute confidence in the ability of the government, management and staff of the institution to maximise the Polytechnic’s potential to producing competitive and competent manpower for the nation.
He added that the Polytechnic in a few while will begin live broadcast in its studio to train students not only in theoretical areas but also in practical engagements and to educate, entertain and inform the host community.
Dr. Maifata, therefore, highlighted the cause for effective service, affirming that the equipment of the school’s recording and live studios cannot be found in many campus stations in the country.
The Acting Rector-led inspection team comprised Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mukhtar Wakeel, Director Academic Planning Dr. Ibrahim Dauda, Dean of the School of Cmmunication Technology, Florence Alu and Head of Department of Mass Communication, Larai Jakonda amongst others.
