Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2025 – Fully Funded

The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship 2025, offered in collaboration with the Hauwa Ojeifo Global Impact Fund for Women & Girls and One Young World, is now open for applications. This prestigious scholarship is designed for young leaders working on gender equity, mental health, and human rights across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
It provides full sponsorship to attend the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich, Germany, along with post-summit support to scale impactful initiatives.
Purpose of the Scholarship
Around the world, gender inequality, poor mental health access, and limited representation of women in policy-making remain urgent issues. According to the UN, child marriage may persist for another 300 years at the current rate, and nearly half of married women globally still lack autonomy over their reproductive health. This scholarship exists to empower those working to shift these realities—especially in underrepresented and underserved communities.
Who is Hauwa Ojeifo?
Hauwa Ojeifo is a renowned Nigerian mental health advocate and One Young World Ambassador. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD, she turned her lived experience into a mission by founding She Writes Woman, a mental health movement that supports individuals living with psychosocial disabilities.
Her impact includes:
- Operating a 24/7 national helpline in Nigeria with trained counselors
- Building a community of over 2,000 mental health advocates
- Conducting strategic advocacy workshops across Africa
In 2024, she was recognized by Melinda French Gates as one of 12 global leaders awarded a share of a $20 million fund dedicated to improving women’s health and wellbeing.
