The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has officially released its approved undergraduate academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to the schedule, the first semester will kick off on Monday, November 17, 2025, with the opening of the registration portal. All students are expected to return by Sunday, November 23, 2025, while lectures commence on Monday, November 24, 2025. Fresh students’ orientation is slated for December 8 – December 23, 2025, before the Christmas break starting December 22, 2025.

The first semester will run for 16 weeks, comprising 12 weeks of lectures, one lecture-free week, and three weeks of examinations. Examinations are scheduled between March 2 – March 21, 2026, after which students will go on an inter-semester break until April 18, 2026.

The second semester will begin on Monday, April 13, 2026, with the portal reopening for registration. Students are expected to resume fully by Sunday, April 26, 2026, with lectures commencing on April 27, 2026. The semester will also last 16 weeks, including 13 weeks of lectures, one lecture-free week, and two weeks of examinations. The academic session is expected to round off by Saturday, August 22, 2026, after which students proceed on their long vacation break.

With this approved calendar, FUTA has provided clarity and adequate planning time for both students and staff, ensuring a smooth academic flow for the session.
