FIX OUR ROADS- MAPOLY STUDENTS APPEALS TO GOV. ABIODUN

The Students of Moshood Abiola polytechnic, Abeokuta in ogun state has appealed to state government and Governor Dapo Abiodun to fix all the bad roads in the polytechnic community and also interfere on the issue of accreditation and re-accreditation of existing programmes in the institution.
The Student Union President, Comrade Optimum stated that all the roads that lead to the polytechnic from Iyana Oloke bus stop has become so bad and needed to be fixed as soon possible, adding that the polytechnic community has suffered neglect in the last 10 years and this has affected the students as they have no choice than to trek because the roads are not motorable.
“Your Excellency, the road that leads to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, from Iyana Oloke bus stop to the school gate, is an eyesore and an embarrassment to the good people of Ogun State. It is now worse in the rainy season as The axis has been suffering from neglect since 10 years ago….
“The number of shuttle drivers who convey Students has dropped from 85 to 35 in the past few months. In fact, only 18 buses are willing to pass through the route. Eight of the 18 buses are bad due to the bad road…
“Most students are trekking from far distances to school everyday. We implore the State Government to fix the road now. This has seriously affected academics, progress and activities of the institution in many ways.

Speaking on Accreditation of Programmes in the polytechnic, Comrade optimum called on the state governor to look into the issue of accreditation in the institution, “We are appealing to the State Governor to interfere in the issue of accreditation for the institution. We hope that the governor, through his magnanimity and influence, can assist the institution in getting full accreditation of all our programmes.”
He added that “The issue of accreditation can make or mar our sojourn in the citadel of learning. If our courses are not accredited, it will not only render our certificates useless, but also determine our journey in life.”
