FEDPA Rector Approves 2025 Edition of Annual Rector’s Cup Football Competition

In a spirited move to enhance camaraderie and promote sporting excellence within the Federal Polytechnic Ayede community, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed (FNSE), has approved the commencement of the second edition of the Annual Rector’s Cup Football Competition. The much-anticipated tournament is scheduled to kick off during the upcoming Sports Week, from July 29th to August 4th, 2025.
This year’s competition will feature a knock-out format, allowing for a more dynamic and engaging experience as participating teams vie for the coveted cup within the limited timeframe.
In his statement, Engr. Dr. Abdul-Hameed emphasized the importance of sports in fostering teamwork and discipline among students and staff. “The Rector’s Cup is not just a competition; it’s an opportunity for our community to come together, support one another, and showcase our talents on the field,” he stated. “I encourage all departments to put forth their best teams and participate wholeheartedly in this event. Together, we can create an atmosphere of excitement and unity that reflects the spirit of our institution.”
Mr. Bashir Bello, the Ag. Sports Coordinator, also echoed the enthusiasm surrounding the competition. “I am thrilled to announce the commencement of this year’s Rector’s Cup,” he remarked. “The support and active involvement from every member of the Polytechnic community are crucial for the success of this event. We look forward to seeing everyone on the field, cheering for their teams and celebrating our shared love for sports.”
Preparations are already in full swing, and detailed fixtures and guidelines has been shared through each departmental sport representative. The Federal Polytechnic Ayede community is encouraged to participate, as this event promises to be an exciting celebration of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
