Federal Poly Ado 2025 Admission: 10 Important Things You Need to know as a post-UTME and HND Aspirant of FPA

The Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti admission form is finally out, and as usual, many students are already making avoidable mistakes that could ruin their chances. Whether you’re applying for Post UTME or HND, this is not the time to be careless. One error in your name, subject combination, or payment method can cost you that admission. This article is your go-to companion to avoid common pitfalls and register successfully—without regrets. Don’t just scan through; read every word. Your admission might just depend on it!
To ensure everything goes smoothly, this article will guide you through everything you need to know as an applicant. A lot of students make mistakes whenever they are registering for Post UTME and HND online. This post will shed more light on those mistakes—and how to avoid them.
1. Your Name Must Be Spelled Correctly
This is the number one and most common mistake made by aspirants. Spelling your name wrongly might become a very big issue during your screening. Post UTME is not like JAMB where you can correct mistakes after registration. Be careful during registration so you won’t be disqualified at the point of clearance. Though the CICT can rectify it, it might affect your admission chances. Avoid data errors like name discrepancies and submitting incorrect or invalid O’Level results.
2. Use the Same Name as in Your Birth Certificate, WAEC, and JAMB
I have seen cases where an aspirant used “Olaniyi Adeola Gloria” for WAEC and later used “Olaniyi Adeola Bukola” in JAMB. This will create a big problem—either during Post UTME registration or after you’ve been admitted. Ensure your name arrangement matches your birth certificate, NIN, O’Level result, and other vital documents. Last year, several applicants were disqualified because of this. Don’t make the same mistake.
3. Input Your Correct O’Level Result
This point ties in with number one. Whether done intentionally or by mistake, submitting false or incorrect O’Level results is a big offence. Don’t apply to FPA with fake results. You will get caught and your admission will be terminated. Do the right thing.
4. Online Payment During Post UTME Registration
This can be a big problem for some aspirants. You’ll be required to pay a fee for registration. I advise you to do this in a reliable cyber café. Don’t take the risk of paying online with your smartphone.
Some aspirants complained in the past about not receiving their RRR pin even after their money was deducted. Some even had to pay twice. To avoid this, use trusted centres like Govitee Prints in Aba Erinfun, Ezelek Success Computers Mini Mart at Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, or MR BALOKIEL. These agents are reliable.
5. Read the Instructions Before Registering Online
Please read the guidelines carefully before you register. This helps you avoid costly mistakes that could ruin your admission chances. Check for correct subject combinations and O’Level requirements. For example, SLT requires Physics, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and either Agric or Biology. Make sure your course requirements match what you have.
6. Make FPA Your First Choice Before Obtaining the Form
In most cases, FPA gives admission to candidates who choose the institution as their first choice. Even if you’re offered admission as a second choice, you’ll still be required to change it to first choice before clearance. To be on the safer side, just make FPA your first choice right from the start.
7. Do Not Edit Your JAMB Profile in a Cyber Café
If you need to change your name, gender, state, date of birth, course, or institution, only approved CBT centres can do this. Do not attempt to edit your JAMB profile at a random café—it could backfire.
8. Cut-off Mark
According to the management of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, the cut-off mark for all courses this year is 120. Whether you applied for SLT, Business Administration, or any other course—if you score up to 120 in UTME, you may be offered admission. However, your O’Level results also play a major role, as FPA uses a screening method for admission.
9. Subject Combinations
If you must make any mistake, let it not be your subject combination. This kind of mistake is not fixable. If your subjects don’t match the course you applied for—whether you’re PT or FT—you will be disqualified. If you’re unsure, visit the school portal to confirm the correct subject combinations.
10. Part-Time Admission Isn’t Automatic
There’s a myth that once you buy the part-time (Evening Programme) form, your admission is guaranteed. That’s false. If you make any of the mistakes listed above, you won’t be admitted—form or no form.
11. 2025 HND Aspirants
If you’re an FPA graduate, obtain your form as soon as the school announces it. Enter the correct information in your credentials. Whether you graduated with Pass or Upper Credit, follow the instructions and you’ll likely be admitted.
The polytechnic conducts an entrance exam for HND applicants. The CBT covers English, general knowledge, and questions from your field of study. Scoring high or low doesn’t guarantee admission, but applying early boosts your chances.
12. Admission is Not by Proxy
Don’t give money to anyone to help you with your registration. Always be present. Last year, an aspirant gave his brother money to register on his behalf, and he didn’t even get the form—talk less of admission. Monitor your registration yourself!
13. Do Not Share Your Password, Login, or Private Documents
Nigerian students often jump to the worst conclusions without facts. Don’t share your JAMB login details or credentials with anyone. An enemy could log in and reject your admission without your knowledge. Keep your details safe.
