Ekiti State Polytechnic Seeks Inclusion in State-Sponsored Land Clearing, Farming Cluster Initiative

Ekiti State Polytechnic, Iṣan Ekiti, has officially submitted its expression of interest to participate in the land clearing and farming cluster initiative sponsored by the Ekiti State Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
The Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, on Thursday 30th January, 2025, personally submitted the application to the Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Ebenezer Boluwade at his office in Ado Ekiti.
Receiving the application, Mr. Boluwade assured the Polytechnic Management of government’s full support in facilitating the programme. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Polytechnic’s foundational mandate, as the institution, formerly known as the College of Agriculture and Technology, was originally established to promote agricultural development in the state.
The Commissioner expressed optimism that with the Polytechnic’s participation, it could become a major agricultural hub in Ekiti, contributing significantly to food production and security, research, and capacity building in the sector.
This initiative is expected to enhance agricultural activities within the institution, providing students with hands-on experience while boosting food security in the state.
