Admission: 4 Things to do If Didn’t Meet-up with FedPolyAdo 2023/2024 Departmental Cutoff Mark

It is no longer a news that the management of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti has released the admission cutoff marks for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The school management will also commenced the upload of admission lists on Jamb Caps any moment from now. For those who qualified but have not yet been offered admission, just be patient and be hopeful as you may see “Admission in progress” soon.
However, if you are among those candidates who do not qualify or meet up with the departmental/ course cutoff marks, there is no need to panic, as there are 4 things to do to secure your admission to the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti.
1. APPLY FOR A CHANGE OF COURSE.
The school management has opened the portal for course changes. So if you didn’t meet the departmental cutoff marks, apply for a change of course to a department that falls within your screening score.
For example, if SLT is the course you want to study and you didn’t meet up with the cutoff mark for SLT which is 57%, you can apply for a change of course to Food Technology department, which is 50%. Please note that changing of course does not guarantee that you will be considered for admission, as it’s 50/50.
NOTE: When applying for a change of course, make sure that you have the correct subject combination for the course you want to switch to.
2. APPLY FOR A PART-TIME PROGRAMME.
Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti part-time, also known as the evening program, is a direct entry admission that does not require any cutoff mark. If you didn’t qualify for the full-time (morning) program, then you have no choice but to apply for the evening program. There is no need to buy the evening form again; the school may automatically offer it to you. You can as well buy the evening or part-time form if you are eager for admission.
3. APPLY FOR A CHANGE OF INSTITUTION.
If you didn’t qualify for Adopoly admission, or if you did and the school didn’t later offer you admission, you need to apply for a change of institution to other schools in Ekiti state. Perhaps if you want to study any of these courses: Accountancy, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, and Agricultural Technology, you can apply for admission to Ekiti State Polytechnic.
All you have to do is apply for a change of institution to Ekiti State Polytechnic, and you will be offered admission. The only difference between Ado Poly and Ekiti Poly is that FPA is a federal polytechnic while EKSPOLY is a state polytechnic, so the choice is yours.
If you see not interested in Ekiti state polytechnic, you can apply for change of institution to other polytechnics in Nigeria, however, you should do this as early as possible.
4. CHANGE TO NEW PROGRAMS.
You can apply for change of course for the newly approved programs: Public Administration, Library and Information Science, Mechatronics, Welding and Fabrication, and Water Resources Engineering. If you have the subject combination for these courses, then you can apply for a change of course to these new programs, as there is a 99.9% assurance that you will be offered admission because the cut off mark is just 40%. You may also apply for change of course to other departments that are less competitive.
Some of the less competitive courses are: fisheries Technology, banking and finance, marketing marketing, Glass and Ceramics Technology, surveying and geo, quantity surveying, estate management and architectural Technology.
In addition, scoring above the cutoff marks for your course does not guarantee that you will be offered admission. As long as you qualify, there is a high chance that the school will offer you admission. Just be hopeful.
