The immediate past substantive Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH),  Igboora, Prof. Gbemiga Adewale has commended the present Rector of the institution, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi for the on-going developmental work in the institution.

Prof. Adewale made this known during a thank-you visit by the outgoing Alumni President, Com. Mojeed Anifowose, the Alumni Representative Council, Com. Yusuf Ganiyu and Com. Yekeen Mohammed, the former General Secretary to him at the Iseyin Campus of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.

Prof. Adewale who expressed gladness over the successes recorded by the OYSCATECH Alumni Association and for the award of recognition conferred on him by the Association for his support and role towards the establishment of OYSCATECH Alumni Association while serving as the Rector of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

According to the former Rector, “despite the fact that the law establishing the institution recognizes that the host community and Alumni should be represented on the Governing Council of the institution, I was not happy that Alumni was not represented but there was nothing I could do to help the situation until the Public Relations Officer caught the vision. I want to use this opportunity to commend the PRO of the institution, Mrs. Opeyemi Olawore for her ceaseless efforts which led to the establishment of OYSCATECH Alumni Association.

“I therefore dedicate all my achievements while in OYSCATECH to the Staff of the institution because their dedication and commitment made all the achievements possible.

“By the grace of God I delivered on my mandate and I return all the glory back to God.” 

Prof. Adewale congratulated Mr. Anifowose on the successful completion of his tenure.

He therefore prayed God to grant him a good successor.

Prof. Adewale also pledged his support for the advancement of OYSCATECH Alumni Association and their members.

Earlier, the outgoing Alumni President, Com. Mojeed Anifowose commended Prof. Adewale for his fatherly role and commitment towards the advancement of former Students of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora.

Mr. Anifowose recalled that it was during the tenure of Prof. Adewale that he together with other graduates of the institution was gainfully employed.

Anifowose who represented the OYSCATECH Alumni Association for the period of four years on the Governing Council of the institution applauded the initiative of Prof Gbemiga Adewale and other Management team who served with him and after him.

The Public Relations Officer of the Institution, Mrs. Opeyemi Olawore lauded the initiative of Prof. Adewale for ensuring that OYSCATECH migrated from Monotechnic to Polytechnic. She noted that the singular effort had brought the presence of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund) to the institution.

It would be recalled that the Alumni Association had also conferred award of recognition on the former Acting Rector, Mr. Isiaka Adekunle and the Immediate Past Bursar of the institution, Dr. Sarafa Agbogun.
