FG Partners with Amazon Web Services to Provide Free Digital Skills Training in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced a new partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer free digital skills training and certification to students and lecturers in tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
This initiative, which aligns with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to equip students and educators with in-demand skills for today’s digital economy, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning.
The Ministry shared details of the collaboration through its official social media handle, encouraging institutions nationwide to take advantage of the opportunity. The training and certification are fully funded by the Ministry and AWS, making participation completely free for beneficiaries.
Programme Rollout and Expansion
The digital skills programme has already kicked off in 43 federal universities and polytechnics, with plans to expand quickly to include state and privately owned tertiary institutions. To ensure smooth implementation, school heads have been asked to appoint coordinators who will oversee the training at their institutions.
Vice Chancellors, Rectors, and Provosts of state and private tertiary institutions have been directed to submit the details of their nominated coordinators by Friday, July 19, 2025, at 5 PM. Institutions interested in joining must complete the official nomination form, providing details such as:
- Title and name of the institution’s head
- Position (Vice Chancellor, Rector, or Provost)
- Institution name and address
- Institution type (State or Private)
- Contact information (including WhatsApp number)
- Appointed coordinator’s full name, designation, phone number, and email address
