Ekiti State Polytechnic Bids Farewell to Pioneer Registrar, Mr Olorunsola

In a heartwarming and dignified ceremony held on Monday February 24, 2025 at the Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, the institution marked the end of an era by honouring its Pioneer Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Olorunsola, whose tenure will officially conclude on March 1, 2025.
The valedictory service, held at the 250 Capacity Lecture Theatre, was a fitting tribute to a man widely regarded as an outstanding administrator. In his address, the Rector, Dr. Sunday Osinkolu Ajeigbe, lauded Olorunsola’s dedicated service over the past five and a half years, emphasizing that his leadership was instrumental in laying a strong foundation for the polytechnic. “We gather to celebrate a remarkable leader, an outstanding administrator, and a man whose dedication has been instrumental in shaping the foundation of Ekiti State Polytechnic” the Rector remarked.
Delivering his valedictory speech, Mr. Olorunsola expressed profound gratitude to the Ekiti State Government for entrusting him with the responsibility of pioneering the Polytechnic’s administration. He highlighted some of his major achievements, which include establishing key administrative frameworks, fostering staff development, and ensuring a smooth operational structure. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to the Polytechnic’s management and staff for their cooperation and support throughout his tenure.
The event was graced by colleagues, traditional rulers, union leaders, friends and well wishers, all coming together to pay tribute to the Registrar’s selfless service. Attendees took part in a series of farewell addresses, during which many shared personal anecdotes and expressed their admiration for his integrity and dedication. The warm tributes painted a picture of a leader who not only fulfilled his administrative duties with precision but also forged meaningful relationships that will endure long after his departure.
In recognition of his valuable contributions, a series of gifts were presented to Mr. Olorunsola as tokens of gratitude. The atmosphere was further enlivened by an electrifying cultural performance by the EKSPOLY cultural troupe, which added a colorful and entertaining touch to the occasion.
Among the prominent dignitaries in attendance were the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon; the Alafon of Ilafon-Ekiti, Oba Akin Owoeye; the Obadu of Ilemeso-Ekiti, Oba David Oyewumi; and the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Alake, among others.
As the polytechnic prepares to transition to a new chapter following Mr. Olorunsola’s exit, the legacy of his tenure is expected to continue influencing the institution’s trajectory.
The farewell service, imbued with emotion and respect, stands as a testament to Mr. Olorunsola’s enduring impact on the Ekiti State Polytechnic community. His contributions will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration for future leaders.
