OGITECH Rector’s Cup Finals Culminates in Thrilling Showdowns
The campus of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa was ablaze with excitement as the grand finale of the highly anticipated Rector’s Cup unfolded, bringing an end to weeks of intense competition and camaraderie. The male and female categories showcased breathtaking performances, culminating in a historic triumph and a captivating display of skill and determination.
Male Category Finals: In a nail-biting contest that had spectators on the edge of their seats, the Computer Engineering department etched their name in the annals of Rector’s Cup history. For the first time ever, Computer Engineering emerged as champions, defying all odds to clinch a hard-fought victory over their formidable opponents, the Business Administration department. The match, which witnessed adrenaline-pumping moments and strategic maneuvers, showcased the indomitable spirit of both teams. At the end, Computer Engineering’s unwavering dedication paid off, and they secured the coveted title, leaving the audience in awe.



Male Category Third Place: The battle for third place was no less intense, as the Banking & Finance/Taxation department and Mass Communication clashed in a contest of skill and resolve. Both teams exhibited remarkable prowess and determination, but it was the Banking & Finance/Taxation department that emerged triumphant, claiming the third-place position and affirming their standing as a force to be reckoned with.
Female Category Finals: The female category witnessed a titanic clash between the reigning champions, the SLT department, and the spirited contenders from the Computer Science team. The atmosphere was electric as these two powerhouses engaged in a battle of strategy, teamwork, and raw talent. Despite a valiant effort from Computer Science, the SLT department displayed their mettle and secured their championship reign, further solidifying their dominance in the competition.
Female Category Third Place: The pursuit of the podium in the female category was no less fierce, as the Melting and Accountancy departments engaged in a cerebral and skillful contest. After a closely fought match, it was the Marketing department that emerged victorious, claiming the third-place spot and capping off an exhilarating tournament.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including the Acting Rector Mr. Adegbite Ganiu Adewale who was ably represented by the Director Centre for Part-time Studies Mr Ajobiewe Olatunji, who commended the participants for their exemplary sportsmanship and dedication. The Deans of Student Affairs Mr. Aminu, Sulaimon O. was also in attendance, adding to the prestige of the occasion.
As the sun set on the Rector’s Cup, it left behind a trail of unforgettable moments, inspiring performances, and a renewed sense of camaraderie among the departments. Congratulations to Computer Engineering and SLT departments for their resounding victories, and to all the participants for their unwavering spirit and commitment to excellence. Until the next Rector’s Cup, the legacy of this year’s tournament will continue to shine brightly within the halls of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.
