To begin with, no course is cheap or easy because each course is difficult and unique in its own right, but there are some courses that are extremely difficult and difficult to study. 2. ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING.

When you see an Electrical Electronics Engineering student, please show them respect because that course is not as easy as it seems. In fact, the department is even a risk to life, and it costs a lot of money. If you are not rich upstairs, don’t even dream of choosing electrical electronics engineering because it is tough and difficult.

3. COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING.

The Computer Science and Computer Engineering courses are some of the most difficult and toughest to study in the polytechnic. When people hear “Computer Science” or “Computer Engineering”, they hiss, thinking the department is just about computers, but the reverse is true. The course is broad and difficult. For you to succeed in this department, you must be ready to sacrifice a lot of your time. Computer science and computer engineering courses are not bread and butter courses.

4. SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY.

SLT is a difficult course and it has a lot of branches, such as physics with electronics, microbiology, biochemistry, and applied chemistry, which already proves that the department is not meant for the weak. Science Technology is difficult and tough to study and it is a wide course that only the serious students can succeed in.

5.  MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.

Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and most popular courses in the Faculty of Engineering. This course is very difficult and more than tough. Mechanical engineering also has branches and other options. It is a broad course that requires a lot of time. Generally, all engineering courses are tough, but mechanical engineering is the toughest. Studying this course will take away your time and social vibe due to the constant practicals and stress that are involved. Don’t even dream of choosing mechanical engineering if you are not brilliant.

6.  ACCOUNTANCY.

Accountancy is a difficult course in the School of Business and Financial Studies. In fact, accountancy is the number one toughest course in the faculty because the courses embedded in the department are not easy to master. It takes a lot of time and seriousness to succeed in the department. You might want to argue this fact, but not until you are a student in this department. That is when you will be able to understand.

7. OFFICE TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT. 

Office Technology Management is one of the most popular courses. In the polytechnic, what makes the department so popular is the “shorthand,” which makes the department so tedious. OTM is the only department that will teach you in a language that you can’t understand. When you see students graduating from this department, please show them respect. It is not easy at all.

 

8. MASS COMMUNICATION.

Mass communication is one of the most difficult and toughest courses to study in Nigerian polytechnics. Although the department is very popular and the most populated, that doesn’t make it cheap. The reason why the department is highly competitive is due to its employment opportunities, as products of this department can work for radio and TV stations, newspapers, and others. To study this course, you have to be academically sound because the department is tough and not as cheap as it seems to many.

9. STATISTICS.

Mathematics and Statistics is a difficult course, and it is very tough to study, unlike other departments. I’ve been to many polytechnics in Nigeria and I was able to gather that most applicants for admission don’t like to choose the course because it is tough and that is why students in the department are few in population. A product of this department can work as a data analyst. If you are not brilliant, don’t even dream of choosing this course.

 

10. FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. 

Food Science and Technology is a department that can be studied in the faculty/school of science. Many students think that the department is about “catering services,” which is not so. Food technology students are food scientists, not caterers. This course is very difficult and tough to study. To be sincere, if you think this department is easy, then you need to come and find out for yourself.

11. ARTS AND DESIGNS.

Although many people take this course for granted, it is difficult and tough. The course is about the arts, design, and creativity. The Department of Arts and Design was established to provide talented and highly motivated students with the theoretical, conceptual, and technical skills needed to excel as professional artists and designers. The aim is to produce graduates who are well positioned to meet the demands of a dynamic and changing society. Don’t joke with this department; it is not as cheap as you may think.

 

12. MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING.

Mechatronics Engineering is a difficult course and is tough to study. The course is very low in population, and I think the highest number of students you will see in this department can’t exceed 500. The course is very tough to the extent that only the genius can succeed.

13.  AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY.

Agricultural Engineering Technology is a difficult course and one of the toughest. The Department focuses on the development of farm machinery and its implementation, such as planting seeds, harvesting of crops, and at the same time, machinery for the storage of crops into agricultural products. Graduates of this department can work in commercial farms, manufacturing companies, and government establishments, among others. This course is one of the toughest to study in Nigerian polytechnics.

 

14. ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY AND BUILDING TECHNOLOGY.

The Architectural Technology and Building Technology courses are not a bread and butter department; they are tough, stressful, and require a lot of time. Their practical’s and exams are sometimes different from those of other courses. Products from this department can work as architects, town planners, fire risk assessors, building control surveyors, etc.  These courses are so difficult to study.

15. SURVEYING &GEO-INFORMATICS AND QUANTITY SURVEYING.

You see these two courses: Quantity surveying and surveying and Geo-Informatics. They are like a fry pan, very difficult and tough. Well, if you are good at reading and cramming, you can easily succeed in the department, but if you are weak, don’t dream of choosing the department.
