What to Do if You Don’t Meet the Federal Poly Ado-Ekiti Departmental Cut-Off Mark for the 2024/2025 Academic Session

The management of the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti has announced the release of the departmental cut-off mark for the 2024/2025 academic session. Only candidates who meet the minimum acceptance mark will be offered admission to the polytechnic.
If your screening score is below the minimum acceptance cut-off mark, you still have hope of gaining admission to the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti by following the steps listed below.
1. Apply for a Change of Course
The school management has advised applicants who do not meet the minimum acceptance mark to apply for a change of course to other departments that fall within their screening score. For example, if your course of study is Science Laboratory Technology and you don’t score up to 60% in your screening result, you can apply for a change of course to the Food Technology department, which has a minimum cut-off mark of 50%, or to other courses that fall within or below your screening score.
When applying for a change of course, your subject combination and O’level combination are very important. Don’t just apply for a change of course to any department; make sure that you meet the O’level and UTME subject combination for the new course you are changing to.
As explained earlier, SLT applicants can change to Food Technology if their screening score is 50 or below. Applicants who applied for Civil Engineering but didn’t meet the minimum acceptance mark can change to the Mechatronics Engineering department if their screening score is 40 or below.
Additionally, changing your course to another department does not guarantee admission. It is 50/50, meaning the school might not offer you admission despite changing to another department. All you have to do is visit the JAMB CBT center and apply for a change of course.
2. Change to Part-Time.
If you don’t meet the minimum acceptance mark for your course and still wish to study the same course, you may apply for the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti part-time program. The part-time program is like direct entry. No PUTME screening is required, but the school fees are a bit higher. Moreover, the part-time program lasts 3 years, or 6 semesters. If you still want admission to the school, you can apply for the part-time admission.
3. Apply for a Change of Institution
If it seems like there is no hope for you due to your low cut-off mark, it’s better to apply for admission to other schools, like Ekiti State Polytechnic or other polytechnics in Nigeria that are still offering admission to applicants. Apply for a change of institution to another school and purchase their application form.
These are the options available for those who do not meet the minimum acceptance mark for the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti.
For those who qualified or meet the minimum acceptance mark, they should expect admission list at any moment from now.
