TECNO Launches Creators Hub to Support Over 2,000 Nigerian Student Content Creators

TECNO has unveiled a new initiative aimed at empowering over 2,000 student creators across Nigerian universities through its newly launched Creators Hub. This project is part of the promotional campaign for the brand’s latest smartphone, the TECNO SPARK 40 Series, but its goals go far beyond product marketing.

The Creators Hub is designed to spotlight students already creating digital content with their mobile phones—whether through TikTok dances, comedy skits, tech reviews, vlogs, or podcasts. Through this platform, TECNO plans to provide these students with the tools, support, and visibility they need to elevate their creativity while gaining income and experience.

According to the company, this initiative was inspired by research indicating that a large number of Nigerian students engage in side hustles while pursuing their education. In response, TECNO is offering not only financial support but also professional exposure to help these students monetize their creativity.

Beyond financial incentives, the Creators Hub focuses on building a vibrant community of young creatives. Participants will receive mentorship, engage in hands-on sessions, and collaborate with TECNO student ambassadors, who will spearhead campus-based activities.

“This initiative is not just about introducing a new smartphone,” said Olumide Yomi-Omolayo, TECNO’s Marketing Manager. “It’s about nurturing a growing community of student creatives. We believe there are thousands of talented individuals doing amazing things with just their phones. The Creators Hub exists to give them a stage to grow.”

How It Works

The campaign is scheduled to run from July to August 2025 and will include both online and offline engagement. Interested students can participate by submitting a 30-second video that showcases their unique creative flair, using specific weekly hashtags posted on TECNO’s social media platforms. Even students with a small following (as few as 500 followers or less on TikTok) are encouraged to apply.

Campus Activation

The initiative will begin with activations at major institutions such as the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, Yaba College of Technology, and Pan-Atlantic University. On each campus, TECNO ambassadors will organize interactive sessions, facilitate content creation using the SPARK 40 smartphone, and encourage student participation.

Building the Future of Mobile Content

By launching the Creators Hub, TECNO is positioning itself as more than just a smartphone brand—it aims to be a catalyst for creativity and youth empowerment in Nigeria. This project not only helps young talents grow their personal brands but also promotes digital entrepreneurship among the country’s student population.

For updates and participation details, students are encouraged to follow TECNO on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).
