2022/2023 Matriculation: Ekiti College of Health Provost, Jamb Coordinator, Others Restate Need For Diligence

The Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti has matriculated One thousand One Hundred and Six Students into the institution’s six schools namely; School of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Community & Public Health, School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Health Information & Biostatistics, School of Medical Laboratory & Imaging Science, and the School of Therapeutics, Opthalmic and Intervention Science, for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Addressing Matriculants at the College’s Remedial Hall; venue of the ceremony, Provost of the College, Dr(Mrs) Olajumoke Adebayo urged them to be diligent in their studies, in order to excel and secure their future.
Dr Adebayo who identified the College’s Entrepreneurship Center where Students can acquire additional skills that would make them become job providers and employers of labour, as a unique selling point, stated the institution’s zero tolerance for cultism, gangsterism, raping and hooliganism amongst other social vices.
While noting that the institution has a conducive learning environment, the Provost urged matriculants to key in to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) programme in order to enjoy quality health care at relatively low cost.
She further urged Parents to support the Institution Management’s “Friends of the College” Initiative, set up as an avenue that would afford Members of Staff, Friends, Parents, Acquaintances and well-meaning individuals the opportunity to donate generously towards supporting tangible projects in the College.
On her part, the College Registrar, Mrs Ogunsakin who stressed the need for students to shun peer pressure influence, urged matriculants to honour God in their conducts.



Similarly, the Acting Ekiti State Coordinator, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Mr Ebenezer Owolafe who also graced the occasion, stressed the need for matriculants to make their parents proud by being deliberate in the pursuance of excellence.
Highpoint of the event was the administration of oath on matriculants by the College Registrar, Mrs Caroline Ogunsakin.
The matriculation which featured performance by the College’s Environmental Parade Guard, had in attendance; representatives of the Owa Ajero of Ijero-Kingdom – Oba Joseph Adebayo Adewole, officials of JAMB, Ekiti State, Deputy Provost of the College – Mr Kayode Abolarin, the Bursar – Mrs Funmilayo Alonge, the Librarian – Mr Folorunsho Olayinka, Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, as well as Academic and Non-Teaching Staff.
