Stop Extorting Students- Offa Poly Management Warn Staff, Lecturers
The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, has warned its staff and lecturers against corrupt practices stressing that it would no longer condone such habit in the institution.
Mr A. A Arinde, Director of the Anti corruption and Transparency Unit Issued this warning over the weekend stressing that corrupt practices such as Trading sex for Mark, Extortion of students by project supervisors, Sexual harassment of students through threat and illegal collection of Unauthorized dues/Fees from students are prohibited in the polytechnic.
He added that any lecturer, staff caught and found guilty will be reported to ICPC for persecution.
The Director further said that, “Charging students money for tests, assignments and tutorials; Forcing students to pay money for data and generator fuel by the Bursary Staff and other Departments/Units; Extorting money from students for signing of registration kits in Academic Affairs Office or Departments; Extortion for signing projects at departmental level and misappropriation of departmental dues and school dues collected from students by staff will no longer be tolerated thereby advising the concerned to shun corruption or risk being sanctioned.
