OGITECH STAFF UNITE FOR ANNUAL HEALTH WALK PROMOTING WELLNESS
In a bid to prioritize the well being of staff, the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, orchestrated its 3rd Annual Staff Health Walk on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024. Under the banner of ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body,’ the event was spearheaded by OGITECH’s esteemed Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye.
The procession, starting from the school’s entrance and culminating at the Roundabout Junction Close to Palace of the host community, was not just a mere walk but a symbolic gesture towards embracing a healthier lifestyle.
Dr. Oluseye articulated the significance of regular physical activity in fostering robust physical and mental health. He lauded the organizing committee, led by Arc. Olalekan Oginni, for their meticulous planning and proposed making the event a recurrent feature in the annual calendar, aiming to fortify the health culture within the Institution.
Despite facing obstacles in the past week earlier slated down for the program to be held, Dr. Oluseye expressed gratitude to the OGITECH staff for their unwavering support. He also extended appreciation to His Royal Majesty, the Oloja Ekun of Igbesaland, Oba Abdulazeez Oluwatoyin Akinde, for his continuous encouragement and backing.
Addressing the gathering, the Oloja Ekun of Igbesaland, Oba Abdulazeez Oluwatoyin Akinde, commended OGITECH’s initiative in organizing the Health Walk. Stressing the theme ‘Sound Mind, Sound Body,’ he underscored the imperative of nurturing a healthy lifestyle, citing his personal commitment to daily exercise.
Furthermore, Oba Abdulazeez encouraged attendees to prioritize their health, offering prayers for their continued wellbeing.
Mr. Steve Johnson, representing the sports unit, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Rector Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulazeez Oluwatoyin Akinde, and all members of OGITECH staff for their collective efforts.
