NILEST has Trained and Empowered Thousands of Nigerian Youths: DG

The Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST) since inception has trained and empowered thousands of Nigerian Youths serving as useful Manpower for the various leather and leather related products Industries both at Home and Abroad.
Prof MK Yakubu revealed at the closing ceremony of the two Weeks Intensive Skills Acquisition on Footwear Manufacture conducted on 44 Youths from South-West which held yesterday 27th January, 2023 at the Senator (Prof.) R A Boroffice Skills Acquisition Centre, Oka Akoko.
In his address which was presented by the Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Jerry Irimiya Tagang, the DG said that the Institute has trained and empowered thousands of Nigerian Youths serving as useful manpower in the various fields of Leather and Leather Products related industries spread across the Globe. According to him, the important contributions of NILEST to national development in terms of direct and indirect employment generation, wealth creation and foreign exchange earnings cannot be over-emphasised.
Assuring the 44 Graduands, Prof MK Yakubu said the NILEST Certificate in Footwear and Leather Goods Manufacture is Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation approved and it is tenable in where in the World. He however, congratulate the young Entrepreneurs and charged them to be committed and create passion for the Footwear Manufacture Skills just acquired adding, that the acquired skill is adequate enough for them to carry out functional footwear manufacturing and related operations.
In his Speech, the Olubaka of Okaland His Royal Majesty, Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye OON thanked the DG and the entire NILEST for the efforts aimed at creating jobs for the teaming Nigerian Youths and Women.
