MTN Foundation Opens Applications for ICT and Business Skills Training Phase 7 for Nigerian MSMEs

The MTN Foundation has opened applications for Phase 7 of its ICT and Business Skills Training Programme aimed at empowering young micro business owners in Nigeria. The initiative focuses on equipping participants with digital, ICT and entrepreneurial skills required to grow sustainable businesses in a technology-driven economy.

The programme offers structured training, masterclasses with industry experts and access to equipment grants for top-performing participants as part of long-term business support.

Programme Overview

The training runs for five weeks using a blended learning approach that combines self-paced online modules, live instructor-led sessions and expert masterclasses. Selected participants will also receive data support to enable uninterrupted online learning.

About 6,000 micro business owners will be selected for this phase. From this number, the top 600 participants will qualify for equipment grants from a ₦300 million pool to support business expansion.

Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

To qualify for the MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training, applicants must:

Be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 35 years
Own and manage a micro business that has operated for not more than two years
Have a business located in Abuja, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Enugu, Ondo, Plateau, Sokoto or Taraba

Key Benefits of the Programme

Participants will receive practical training in ICT and business development designed to improve competitiveness in the digital marketplace. The masterclasses will expose participants to real-world strategies from professionals in the technology and business sectors.

Selected applicants will also be provided with data bundles to ensure smooth participation in the online sessions.

The top 600 participants will receive equipment grants from the ₦300 million fund to acquire tools and infrastructure that can directly improve their business productivity.

Interested applicants should visit the official MTN Foundation application portal and complete the online registration form.

Applicants are required to confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements, provide accurate personal and business information and submit their application before the deadline stated on the portal.
