Member representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I in the House of Representatives, Hon. Akin Rotimi has assured Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti, of his commitment to addressing the institution’s persistent power supply challenges. The lawmaker also promised to facilitate other crucial interventions, including the provision of laboratory equipment and an ambulance, to improve the Polytechnic’s operations.
Hon. Rotimi made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Polytechnic’s Rector, Dr. S.O. Ajeigbe, in his office today.
Speaking during the visit, the federal lawmaker emphasized the need for more intervention from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to support the growth and development of the Institution. He expressed optimism that his promises would be fulfilled in no distant time, acknowledging the Polytechnic management for its proactive engagement and consultative approach in addressing its challenges.
He said, “The power supply issue is critical to the functionality of the Polytechnic, and beyond that, the provision of laboratory equipment and an ambulance are essential for the institution. I commend the management for their timely invitation and for presenting the needs of the Polytechnic clearly and very soon you will hear from me.”
Earlier at the meeting, the Rector, Dr. Ajeigbe, highlighted some of the pressing challenges facing the Polytechnic, particularly the issue of power supply. He appreciated the lawmaker for his timely visit and readiness to assist the institution in finding lasting solutions to its problems.
In his remarks, Dr Ajeigbe said, “We are grateful for your quick and timely visit and for your willingness to support the Polytechnic.”
The meeting was also attended by key members of the Polytechnic’s management team, including the Registrar, Mr. J.A.O. Olorunsola, and the Bursar, Mr. J.O. Awe, who both lauded the lawmaker for his concern and commitment to the growth of the institution.
The visit has raised hopes among the Polytechnic community, with expectations that Hon. Rotimi’s interventions will significantly enhance the institution’s academic and infrastructural capacities, positioning it for greater achievements in the near future.
