The College was established in 1992 after the creation of the New Anambra State in 1991 and was established by the act of the Anambra State House of Assembly in 2001: to train the much-needed middle level manpower in the Health Sector.
The vision and mission of the College is to be a national leader in the integration of excellence in teaching and learning, and advancement of knowledge based through research and scholarship, and in preparing professionals to improve the lives of individuals in a changing and complex global society.
