List of NYSC orientation camps and their locations
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is a mandatory program for Nigerian graduates, designed to promote national unity and development. Every year, thousands of graduates are deployed across the country to serve in various states, beginning their service year with a three-week orientation camp. These camps are where corps members receive paramilitary training, engage in skill acquisition programs, and get acquainted with the culture of their host states.
For prospective corps members preparing for their service year, knowing the locations of NYSC orientation camps can be helpful. Below is a list of the camps in different states across Nigeria and their locations.
Abia State
The NYSC camp in Abia is located at Umunna, Bende Local Government Area. It is known for its serene environment and well-maintained facilities. The camp is accessible from Umuahia, the state capital, and corps members can find basic amenities to make their stay comfortable.
Adamawa State
This camp is situated at Damare in Girei Local Government Area, near Yola, the state capital. Adamawa’s camp provides corps members with the opportunity to experience the rich culture of the Fulani people while undergoing their orientation.
Akwa Ibom State
The orientation camp is located at Ikot Itie Udung, Nsit Atai Local Government Area. The facilities here are well-structured, and the camp is known for its engaging activities. The state’s hospitality makes it a welcoming place for corps members.
Anambra State
NYSC camp in Anambra is at Umuawulu-Mbaukwu in Awka South Local Government Area. The camp is close to the state capital, Awka, making it easy for corps members to access necessary supplies.
Bauchi State
This camp is located at Wailo in Ganjuwa Local Government Area. Bauchi is known for its tourism attractions, and corps members posted here have the chance to visit places like Yankari Game Reserve.
Bayelsa State
The camp is situated at Kaiama, Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area. Due to the state’s terrain, corps members often experience a different lifestyle compared to other parts of Nigeria, with water transportation being common.
Benue State
Located at Wannune in Tarka Local Government Area, the NYSC camp in Benue provides corps members with exposure to the rich Tiv culture. The camp has essential facilities, though the weather can be quite hot during certain periods.
Borno State
Due to security concerns, corps members deployed to Borno usually have their orientation at a different location assigned by the NYSC management. However, the official camp is at the Government College, Maiduguri.
Cross River State
This camp is located at Obubra in Obubra Local Government Area. The environment is known for its thick forest vegetation, and corps members enjoy the state’s vibrant cultural heritage.
Delta State
The camp is in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area. Delta is one of the oil-producing states, and its urban centers like Warri and Asaba make it an attractive place for corps members.
Ebonyi State
NYSC camp in Ebonyi is situated at MacGregor College, Afikpo. The camp has basic amenities, and corps members experience the culture and lifestyle of the people of Ebonyi during their stay.
Edo State
The orientation camp is at Okada in Ovia North-East Local Government Area. Edo State is rich in history, and corps members have the chance to learn about the Benin Kingdom while serving here.
Ekiti State
Located at Ise-Orun/Emure, the camp provides a conducive environment for orientation activities. The state is known for its high literacy rate and friendly population.
Enugu State
NYSC camp in Enugu is at Awgu in Awgu Local Government Area. The area has a pleasant climate, and corps members appreciate the hospitality of the people.
Gombe State
The camp is situated at Amada in Akko Local Government Area. Gombe is known as the “Jewel in the Savannah,” and corps members experience a blend of modern and traditional lifestyles.
Imo State
This camp is located at Eziama Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area. Imo is home to many educational institutions, making it a lively place for corps members.
Jigawa State
The NYSC camp in Jigawa is at Fanisau, Dutse. The state capital, Dutse, is not far from the camp, making it easier for corps members to access necessary supplies.
Kaduna State
The orientation camp is at Black Gold Camp, Kaduna. The state is a hub of different ethnic groups, giving corps members a diverse cultural experience.
Kano State
Located at Kusalla in Karaye Local Government Area, the NYSC camp in Kano is well-equipped and offers corps members a glimpse into the rich Hausa culture.
Katsina State
The camp is at Mani Road, Katsina. The state is peaceful and provides corps members with a unique cultural experience.
Kebbi State
This camp is situated at Dakingari in Suru Local Government Area. Kebbi is known for its agricultural activities, and corps members often engage in community development projects related to farming.
Kogi State
Located at Asaya in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, the NYSC camp in Kogi is surrounded by scenic hills and provides corps members with a unique experience.
Kwara State

Niger State
The camp is at Paiko in Paikoro Local Government Area. The state is known for its agricultural activities and peaceful environment.

The NYSC camp in Sokoto is at Wamakko in Wamakko Local Government Area. Sokoto is known for its historical significance and warm weather.
