KSCOE GIDAN WAYA, MATRICULATES PIONEER STUDENTS OF ITS NCE WEEKEND PROGRAMME OF YARKASUWA STUDY CENTRE.

The Yarkasuwa Study Centre of Kaduna State College of Education,Gidan Waya, today in Lere LGA, matriculated its pioneer Students of the NCE Weekend Programme.
In a message delivered during the ceremony by the Provost, Prof. Alexander Kure, who was represented by the Ag. Deputy Provost, Mallam Abdullahi Mohammed, the matriculants were admonished to be hard working in their studies. The Provost also called on them to be good ambassadors of the institution, noting that their character portrays who they are in society.
Prof. Kure stressed Managements commitment in ensuring standards are attained and maintained. While noting their roles as stakeholders, the Provost called on both the Local Government Council and the Traditional Council in the area to render support where necessary.
The Scholar encouraged more people to participate in the programme and also emphasize that the introduction of the Study Centre will lead to supply of quality teachers in the area.
The Executive Chairman of Lere LGA, Hon. Abubakar Buba who was represented by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Mathew Kaku, thanked the College Management under the leadership of Prof. Alexander Kure for setting up the Yarkasuwa Study Centre. He said the efforts has brought education to the people’s doorstep.
While congratulating the Matriculating Students, the Chairman charged them to make the area proud, stressing how opportuned they are to have a Study Centre of the College.
Also in a good will message, the Paramount ruler, HRH Bugwam Kudaru, who was represented by the Traditional Council Secretary, Mr. Henry Irimiah, expressed gratitude to the College Management for choosing Yarkasuwa as a location for one of it’s Study Centres.
The Traditional ruler while calling on the students not to disappoint the area, also encouraged them to be diligent in their studies, noting that they are examples for others to watch.
President of the Federated Kurama Association, Mr. Dauda Barau, who also spoke, stressed the importance of bringing higher education to the people and commended the efforts of the College Management. He said with the spate of insecurity being experienced, the Study Centre will serve Kubau, Saminaka and nearby towns.
The College Registrar, Mr. Timothy Marcus, who spoke lastly, congratulated the Matriculating Students and thanked the people of the area for their support. He commended the lecturers and urged them to keep up the good work.
Barrister Joseph Yawuck administered the Oath of Matriculation to the students.
Those who graced the ceremony include, Dean’s of Schools, Directors and the Academic Secretary. Others are Coordinators.
