KOGI POLY Rector Pays Surprise Visit to Itakpe Campus, charges IJMBE Students to be committed to their academic pursuits

Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman has charged students of Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) on the demanding need to be committed to their academic pursuits.
Dr. Usman gave the charge on Monday 11th March, 2024 when he paid a surprise visit to School of Preliminary Studies, Itakpe Campus of the Polytechnic.
The Rector, who is the first alumnus of the School to assume the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of the institution emphasized the need for the students to show commitment and remain focus to their studies.
He advised students to shun examinations malpractice and distinguish themselves in the course of their programs.
Dr. Usman shared his personal experiences as a young student of the school in year 1995, emphasizing the importance of resilience, hard work, and perseverance in achieving success.
In his words “I was once in your shoes, and that it took me months of dedication and determination to reach this current position and I am urging you to be resilient and work hard to achieve your dreams.
“If I can be Rector today, you too can be greater than me,” he added.
While wishing them success in their studies and in their future endeavors, Dr. Usman reminded them that the sky is the limit, and that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Earlier, Dean, School of Preliminary Studies, Mrs. Leah Tinuola Omelegbe appreciated the Rector for not just visiting the school but for always providing the enabling support for quality education to all students.
In her words, ‘This is the first time in the history of the Institution that the Rector will visit the school and we are grateful for your continued support and encouragement.”
Mrs. Omolegbe whilst commending the Rector for his unwavering commitment to the School re-echoed the need for students to shun any form of examinations misconduct and social vices.
