Jubilation Galore As RUGIPO Hugs Reopening

… Academic Calendar proposed by B.O.S finally approved

Students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State (RUGIPO) formerly Ondo State Polytechnic has started expressing their profound excitement as the school management has finally approved the academic calendar for the unconcluded 2019/2020 academic session earlier proposed by Board Of Studies (B.O.S).
The reopening of RUGIPO was reportedly slated for Friday, 6th of November, 2020.
The confirmation was revealed in the latest circular letter with reference number – RUGIPO/DAA/ADM/15/Vol.IV/096 signed and released by the Directorate of Academic Affairs, Gbenga Ademiluyi to all members of the entire polytechnic community few hours ago.
As contained in the letter, for the unconcluded first semester of 2019/2020 academic session, all students of the Polytechnic are directed to resume on Campus on Friday, 6th of November, 2020 and online matriculation of fresh students start on Monday, 9th of November, 2020 to Friday, 13th of November, 2020 (1st week).
Likewise, the continuation and conclusion of semester lectures for SIWES students, and general revisions for other students and conclusion of registration formalities start on Monday, 9th of November, 2020 to Friday, 4th of December, 2020 (1st – 4th week).
Furthermore, the first semester examinations is slated for Monday, 7th of December, 2020 to Tuesday, 24th of December, 2020 (5th – 7th week) and the semester ends on Tuesday, 24th of December, 2020.
In addition, second semester for the unconcluded 2019/2020 academic session starts with the resumption of all students on Sunday, 3rd of January, 2021 and commencement of all academic activities including lecturers on Monday, 4th of January, 2021.
Moreover, lectures for the semester stops on Friday, 12th of February, 2021 and examinations for all categories of students of the institution starts on Monday, 15th of February, 2021 to Friday, 12th of March, 2021.
Likewise, the 2019/2020 academic session ends on Friday, 12th of March, 2020.
Also, both students and members of staff are invited to note details of the review as reflected on the letter.
It is recall that academic activities in the Polytechnic was suspended by the state’s authority on Friday, 20th of March, 2020 following the outbreak and widespread of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic in Nigeria.
