Is ASUP Going on Strike? Here is the Latest update

Sequel to the news going round in some speculated areas that the Academic staff Union of polytechnics (ASUP) will be going on strike over fuel subsidy removal, we wish to clarify to Nigeria students that the union has not made any announcement to go on strike.
During the emergency NEC meeting held on 27th July 2023, it was resolved that all chapters of ASUP should comply with NLC directive by participating in the protest which was held on 1st and 2nd of August 2023.
The memo flying around online is just a directive from the chairman directing all chapters of ASUP to participate in the protest which has been done already.
As at the time of publishing this report, ASUP has not declared any strike action and academic activities are going on smoothly in all the Nigerian polytechnic campuses.
