ILARO POLY BEST GRADUATING STUDENT GETS #500,000 FROM A SERVING SENATOR
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA, FFPI, aka YAYI on mkmfa 4th April 2022, redeemed the pledge he made to the two best overall HND graduating students of the last combined convocation ceremony for the 2019 /2020 and 2020 /2021 academic sessions.
The Senator has presented a cheque of five hundred thousand Naira each to Miss Okeke Gloria Ifunaya and Mr Adebayo Azeez Opeyemi for being the recipients of the awards for the two sessions respectively.
Presenting the cheques to the winners, Dr Kunle Salako, a former commissioner in Ogun state who represented Senator Yayi said the awards were for the encouragement of academic excellence.
The Deputy Rector, Engr (Mrs.) I. K. Ogunfayo, on behalf of the Rector, Arc Olusegun Aluko, Ph.D appreciated Senator Yayi for all his kind gestures to the Polytechnic.
She used the occasion to call on Nigerians to emulate the Senator in order to encourage hard work by students.
The recipients unanimously echoed their realization of the fact that hard work pays and that the prize has spurred them to determine to work harder.
It would be recalled that Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) was the 6th recipient of the Fellowship of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro.
Present at the presentation included the Dean, School of Part-time Studies, Dr. Biodun Oluseye, Otunba Nìyí Sanusi, an aide to Senator Yayi and Sola Abiala, Deputy Registrar, Public Relations among others
