Fedpoly Ede SUG Achieve success on Transport Fare Reduction
Fedpoly Ede
The Student Union of the federal polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has announced a reduction on transport fare to and from the south campus. The transport fare has now been reverse back to its initial #50 as this was the outcome of the union meeting with the transport workers last week.
According to the SUG, the reduction of the transport fare to its initial state will be a relief to the students and also save their expenses.
In a press statement released on Sunday signed by the president reads:
“Our position on the recent increase of transportation fare to and from south campus is clear. We condemn it in totality. Because it is barbaric and abnormal. The economy is worrisome. Therefore we reject any attempt that can intensify economic burden of students.
Having met with the south campus transporters one more time, on complications and increments surrounding the transportation service, we have unanimously agreed to reverse the barbaric increment.
The increment in transportation fare has been reversed, as a matter of exigency.
We therefore use this medium to inform all ever progressive Nigerian students that the transport fare to and from south campus has been reversed back to the usual N50 being the best we can do for the financial convenience of the students.
Any attempt by any transporter to digress from the agreement will not be tolerated.
The Students Union wishes you safe locomotion to and from south campus.
