Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) Approved Academic Calendar for the 2023/2024 Academic Session

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the resumption of Academic Activities for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The approved academic calendar for 2023/2024 is out. The university will resume for online registration on Monday 29th January 2024.

All students are to resume back to campus on Sunday 4th February 2024.

Physical registration and lectures will commence on Monday 5th February 2024.

Orientation for fresh students will hold between 12th to 16th February 2024.

The 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony will hold on Tuesday 12th March 2024.

First semester 2023/2024 examination will commence on Monday 13th May to Saturday 14th June 2024.

Second semester 2023/2024 academic session will begin on Monday 24th June 2024.

Second semester examination – 23rd September to 7th October 2024.

7	12^th – 24^th February 2024	Late registration
8	19^th February 2024	Lectures commence for fresh students.
9	28^th February 2024	Senate sits to consider 2^nd semester 2022/2023 results.
10	12^th March 2024	Matriculation ceremony

11	14^th – 16^th March 2024	Mid semester break
12	18^th March 2024	Lectures resume
13	1^st May 2024	Worker’s day
14	3^rd May 2024	Lectures end
15	6^th – 10^th May 2024	Lecture free week

16	13^th May – 1^st June 2024	First semester examination
17	3^rd – 22^nd June 2024	Inter semester break.

SECOND SEMESTER

1	10^th June 2024	Registration portal opens.
2	23^rd June 2024	Arrival date for all students
3	24^th June 2024	Registration continues.
4	13^th July 2024	Normal registration closes
5	24^th June 2024	Lectures commence.

6	8^th – 9^th July 2024	Departmental board of examination on 1^st semester 2023/2024 results
7	11^th – 12^th July 2024	School board meeting
8	15^th – 19^th July 2024	Late registration
9	31^st July 2024	Senate sits on 1^st semester 2023/2024 results.
10	1^st – 3^rd August 2024	Mid semester break

11	5^th august 2024	Lecture resume
12	13^th September 2024	Lecture end
13	16^th – 20^th September 2024	Lecture free week
14	23^rd September – 7^th October 2024	Second semester examination
15	1^st October 2024	Independent day
16	8^th October – 16^th November 2024	Inter session break.
