In a significant move aimed at supporting student engagement in extracurricular activities, the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, has announced an adjustment to the commencement date of the First Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The decision follows passionate appeals from the Student Union Government (SUG) and other key stakeholders, requesting the institution to enable students’ participation in the much-anticipated Nigeria Polytechnic Games Association (NIPOGA) Games. The Games are scheduled to take place from April 2nd to April 12th, 2025, at Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State.
Responding to the appeals, the Rector, on behalf of the Academic Board, has tentatively approved a new date—April 14th, 2025—for the commencement of the First Semester Examinations. However, the new date remains subject to ratification by the Academic Board.
The adjustment is expected to provide ample opportunity for students of Federal Polytechnic Bida to participate fully in the 2025 NIPOGA Games, fostering sportsmanship and promoting institutional pride.
Chief Stephen Isah, Deputy Registrar (Academics), conveyed the decision through an official memo dated March 12th, 2025.
This development marks a win-win for the institution, balancing academic priorities with sports excellence.
