The management of Federal College of Education, Zaria has today 26th August, 2022 matriculated the newly admitted students of NCE Regular programme for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The Provost, Dr Suleiman Balarabe, who declared the occasion opened welcomed and congratulated all the newly admitted students, calling them to consider them lucky for gaining admission into the prestigious citadel of learning, among many that applied.

“You should consider yourselves lucky for gaining admission into this premier college of education, since many had applied but few were admitted. I, therefore, congratulate all students assembled here to take their matriculation oath.”

Speaking on the need for good conduct on campus, the Provost remarked, “as a reputed teacher training institution, students must be reminded of the need to watch their moral and social behaviors from day one. The purpose of teacher training college like this one is to prepare fully qualified professional teachers who will later in life help prepare their own students not only to learn and pass examination, but to live respectable and acceptable lives in their communities. It is for this reason that NCE is awarded, not only for passing examination, but also, for good behavior and exemplary conduct.”

Also the Provost called on students to note that, “the college abhors any form of display of anti-social behaviors, especially as it concerns examination malpractice, indecent dressing and unlawful associations and drug abuse and they should toe the path of honour both within and outside the College as it enjoys a reputation for producing excellent teachers for the nation.”

While urging students to maintain 75% attendance, he also called on them to be security conscience and maintain cordial relations with their host communities.

He finally thanked all guests that were able to grace the occasion; religious leaders, traditional leaders and security personnels.
