ATAPOLY SUG President Clarifies Resumption Rumour

The Students union Government of The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, has described the news flying on social media regarding the resumption of academic activities as a fallacy as no specific date was released by the school management.
The SUG president, Comrade Danmaigoro made this clarification on his facebook page on Thursday urging students to be calm pending further hearing from the school management and the striking lecturers.
POLYTV had earlier reported how The Joint Action Committee (JAC) which comprises of Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP)and Non Academic staff declared two weeks warning strike in all the state-owned tertiary institutions in Bauchi state, to pressure for their demands from the state government, a development which resulted to violent protest by the polytechnic students.
The school management later shut down the polytechnic till further notice meanwhile the warning strike still continues.
According to a statement from the Student union, both the school management and JAC are yet to release a circular or memo regarding school resumption and strike action.
The statement read, “Still on the ongoing 2-weeks warning strike from the joint action committees of bauchi state which are supposed to end on 30th of july as contained in the letter released by the JAC body. Within this 2weeks a lot of speculations and rumours have been lingering the social media spaces as many can’t actually foretell the exact date of resumption as school management are yet to conclusively release a circular/memo regarding to the worrisome resumption date of the school and as well the JAC are yet to release circular to clarify whether the strike would be extended or called off.”
The SUG president called on the JAC chairman and the state government to reach a resolution so that students can return to campus for the continuation of academic activities.
He said, “I comrade Umar Abdullahi Danmaigoro brings fraternal greetings to you all my fellow students in the spirit of alutarism. I wish to pass this notable message to all and sundry regarding the speculations that have taken over the media space. Please disregard any date you see on social media regarding resumption date as the school management are yet to officially release a memo on when we are to return back to campus.

He added “I urge you all to remain calm as the school management will officially communicate to you all through rightful media. We the students union bodies hope to see you all return safely back to campus. we so much appreciate you all for wearing the cloth of patience and resilience.”
