ASUP STRIKE: EDE POLY MANAGEMENT DIRECTS STUDENTS TO RESUME

The management of The Federal Polytechnic, Ede has directed Teaching staff to resume to classroom immediately, saying that the issue of the mandatory PhD and, 20 years working experience in the said advertisement for the position of a rector is a National Issue and should be left for the national body to pursue.
The school management stated that academic staff she other stakeholders should continue with their normal duties without fear of being molested by ASUP.
The statement reads,
“The Academic Board of the Polytechnic at its meeting held on Thursday, 14th July, 2022 deliberated on the directive given by ASUP Headquarters to members of the local chapter of ASUP to withdraw their services because of alleged irregular requirements in the advert for the past of Rector.
“The Academic Board came to the conclusion that the matter is a National issue and should be left for the ASUP Headquarters to pursue. The Academic Board, thereafter, directed Teaching Staff to go back to their Classes, while the lingering issue would be resolved by National Body of the Union.”

“All Academic Staff and other Stakeholders are hereby enjoined to go about their normal duties peacefully without any fear of/or molestation.”
