ANUPA Honors Prof. Suleiman With the “Most Friendly VC Award”

The Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators ANUPA, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, chapter has honoured the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed with the “Most Friendly Vice-Chancellor” award for his friendly disposition towards the administrative and non-teaching-staff-of-the-University.
Presenting the award to the Vice-Chancellor on Monday at the sidelines of the Step-Down & In-House training organized by ANUPA for members of the Registry Department at the old senate chamber, the patron of ANUPA and Secretary General of Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities, ARNU, Mallam Bala Isyaka Ahmed II explained that the award is presented to Professor Suleiman in recognition of his deep benevolence towards the advancement of the Registry Department.
Mallam Bala Isyaka Ahmed II who is also the Registrar of the University recalled that during the stewardship of Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed which is now under review, over 150 non-teaching staff were appointed into the Registry Department in 2021, conversion of Registry staff from executive to administrative cadre, approval of Directorate system in the University, approval of non-teaching staff to rise to Contiss 15, and approval of waiver of school fees for non-teaching staff of the University to further their studies.
The Registrar further noted that under the stewardship of Professor Suleiman, 5 Deputy Registrars of the University were made substantive Registrars of other tertiary institutions in the country and the University hosted top-level conferences and workshops which are adjudged as some of the best hosted in any University in the country amongst other achievements too numerous to mention.
In his response, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed thanked the ANUPA NSUK chapter for recognizing his modest contributions to the growth and development of the Registry Department, he commended ANUPA for being proactive and bringing life to the association through training and retraining its members, stressing that his administration will continue to encourage and support the Registry department to attain higher heights through sponsorships of training and workshops.
Earlier in her address of welcome, the chairperson of the ANUPA NSUK chapter, Barrister Ramatu Ahmed Liman stressed the importance of the training and remarked that given the importance of staff training and re-training and the fact that not all ANUPA members can enjoy sponsorship all the time is the reason that this platform is provided to allow beneficiaries of sponsored training to give a step down of whatever they have learnt to others who have not been trained within the system to also benefit.
In his remark, special guest of honour at the opening ceremony and immediate past Registrar of the University, Alhaji Dalhatu O. Mamman thanked the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar for the massive development and growth the department has enjoyed under their respective stewardship.
The high point of the 2-day Step-Down and In-House Training which commenced from Monday 20th November 2023 to Tuesday 21st November 2023 was the presentation of certificates to the participants.
