AGPOLY WINDSTORM: COMMISSIONER INSPECTS DAMAGED STRUCTURES, ASSURES PROMPT INTERVENTION
The management of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, has been assured of the government’s prompt intervention on the structures damaged by the heavy hurricane that hit the institution on July 8, 2022, and severely damaged numerous offices, homes, shops, and workshops.
The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Higher Education, Alhaji Yahaya Chado Gora, gave this assurance while inspecting the damaged structures yesterday.
He also bemoaned the degree of destruction and hardship the Abdu Gusau polytechnic’s community had been exposed to in the past 12 days of the inferno.
“I was informed of the degree of the damages inflicted by the windstorm to the school’s structures, and my permanent secretary suggested that we visit to assess the situation and offer the ministry’s support to report the case appropriately for immediate action, noting that ” we have no control over its course. No matter what we will do to prevent it, it was certain to happen that day been Friday 8th July, 2022″
The Honorable Commissioner vowed to act also bring the matter to the attention of the state government. He also made it clear that, even if the governor will be unable to come, he would, insha Allah, ensure that the deputy governor paid the school a more thorough inspection in order to see for the governor what is required as soon as possible.x

While depicting the commissioner around the school, Mr. Sadik Abubakar Isah, the deputy rector, Administration, thanked the honorable commissioner for the timely visit and his assurance to the staff and students of his ministry’s commitment to contain the unfortunate experience.
“We appreciate the friendly relationship between your ministry, the overseeing ministry, and Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, honorable commissioner. This shows that your ministry has the institution’s best interests at heart.”
The honourable commissioner was pleased with the way many officers at the institution recieved him. This demonstrated a close relationship between the school and the Ministry. Deputy Rector, Academic, Sir. B.B Hassan, Registrar, Kabiru Abdullahi Musa, Deputy Registrar Administration Nasir Ahmed Gusau, and the school’s deans were among top functionaries received the commissioner.
