ACTING RECTOR, FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OF OIL SND GAS, BONNY INAUGURATES BUDGET MONITORING COMMITTEE

The Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Dr Victor Okolobah has inaugurated the Budget and Monitoring Committee of the Institution.
The Committee was set up for Accessing Needs Assessment Intervention Fund for Public Polytechnics in Nigeria following its guideline by the Federal Ministry of Education.
Addressing the committee members during the inauguration in his office, the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Victor Okolobah said it is imperative that each benefiting institution set up a Budget Monitoring Committee-BMC that will ensure that procurement processes are duly followed from procurement planning, advertisement and tenders to the award of contracts with evidences of compliance forwarded to the Committee for proper implementation.
He added that the Committee in collaboration with management is to monitor the proper utilization of funds, as well as implementation of projects and collation of quarterly report for submission to Council and Polytechnic Implementation Monitoring Committee – PIMC.
While charging members of the committee to remain focused, committed, and dedicated in the discharge of their duties, Dr Okolobah warned against action capable of bringing the institution into disrepute.
Responding, Chairman of the Committee, representing Governing Council, Dr Obasan Adebola Olukayode expressed gratitude to the acting rector for finding them worthy for the task and pledged their readiness and determination to work for the good and progress of the polytechnic.
He assured that the committee will not be found wanting in the discharge of their duties.
The Committee has Dr Obasan Olukayode as Chairman, representing an external member of Governing Council, Dr Anyahie Azunwo, representative of Academic Board, James Karr Ezekiel-Hart – Academic representative of congregation, Olusola Ameyinoge – representing non-teaching congregation, Engr. Abiye Aseminaso represents Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics – ASUP, Tonye Martyns-Yellowe represents Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics – SSANIP, Gift Elekwachi, representative of Non-Academic Staff Union – NASU, Victor Dike represents Student Union Government while Beatrice Ezekiel-Hart is to serve as Secretary.
