YOUR FREEDOM ENDS WHERE ANOTHER PERSON’S FREEDOM BEGINS – RECTOR CAUTIONS MATRICULANTS
The Rector, Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, Prof. Johnson Kayode Adesodun has warned the newly admitted students to always respect the rights and freedom of another person as no one has monopoly of freedoms and rights in life, he urged matriculants to be sensitive and be considerate to the rights and freedoms of other students by unjustly trampled on the freedoms and opportunities of others saying that the Polytechnic would not be responsible for such unacceptable attitude, which are capable of causing phycological trauma to ones .
The prof. made this known to the matriculants in his speech during the 2nd matriculation which took place on Friday 19th August, 2022. He stressed further that the students should protect their rights, privileges, opportunities and freedom and beware of others in exercising such freedoms by not trample on the rights, privileges, opportunities and freedoms of others, irrespective how pressured the situation may be while congratulating all the matriculated students for becoming bonafide students of the polytechnic, charged them to be of good conduct.
In his words” I am using this medium to congratulate you all, I am admonishing you to respect the rights, freedoms and opportunities of others, always remember that your freedom ends where another person’s freedom begins, don’t be self –centered in the course of exercising your freedoms. All students are important to us, there is no preferential treatment, no anointing candidate, beware there are limitations to your rights and freedoms and opportunities, always weigh the consequences of your actions and never at the detriment of others go outside the coffer of yours. Denying ones his or her rights, Freedoms and opportunities is like killing the emotions with such person, it is psychology things, beware”
