Auchi polytechnic SUG Suspends ‘POLY WEEK’

The Students Union Government of the Federal polytechnic Auchi has suspended the student union week otherwise known as POLY WEEK till further notice.
According to the SUG executives, this action became necessary as they alleged that the poly week committee collected illegal funds and items without the consent of the student union executive or the council members which is against the union constitution.
“This is to notify the students and staff of the polytechnic that the Student Union Week otherwise known as POLY WEEK has been placed on hold due to illicit practices and illegal collection of funds and items by the poly week committee without the consent of the Student Union Executive Council or members.
“The Poly Week is not a personal programme as it is outlined in the reviewed Student Union Government Constitution as at 2018.
“Article 19(A) Sub Section C (iii) “the Secretary General of the Union Shall serve as the secretary of the Poly Week Committee” and as such any activity that should be organized during this week should be transparent to all Union members concerned but the reverse has been the case so far.”
“On this note the Student Union Government has placed the Poly Week on Indefinite suspension until all its activities and proceeds has been properly accounted”
