SOKOTO KILLING: BIDA POLY Management Warn students against Inciting Statements

The management of the federal Polytechnic Bida, has warn students against making inciting statements on social media regarding a student of sokoto College of Education, Deborah who was stoned to death over blasphemy.
This was contained in a memo dated 16th May, 2022 where the school management advised students to focus on their examination and stop interfering on the said matter to avoid breach of peace of campus.
According to the memorandum which reads,
“The attention of Management has been drawn to some inciting publications/statements on various social media platforms by some Students of the Polytechnic who were making comments on the recent killing of a female student in Sokoto over alleged blasphemy.
“The Management observed that those statements are capable of causing breach of public peace on campus and cannot afford keeping quiet over such actions.
“Consequent upon the above, Students are strongly advised to keep away from making statements that will heat up the campus which is currently in examination mood.”
“Students are therefore requested to face their studies and go about their normal business peacefully.

The school Management added that they are aware of the platforms where such misguided statements are being posted and would not hesitate to hold authors of such statements/utterances responsible for their actions.
