TotalEnergies has officially opened applications for its 2025 National Merit Scholarship Scheme, aimed at supporting outstanding Nigerian students pursuing undergraduate degrees in Nigerian universities. This annual scholarship provides financial relief to help cover tuition fees, living expenses, and other academic costs.
About the Scholarship
The TotalEnergies National Merit Scholarship is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to support educational development in Nigeria. It is open to qualified first and second-year students in Nigerian universities and covers various fields of study.
Since its inception in 2003, thousands of Nigerian students have benefited from this scheme, making it one of the most recognized merit-based scholarship programs in the country.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive up to ₦200,000 per academic session, renewable annually based on academic performance. The scholarship is meant to ease the financial burden on students by covering:
- Tuition fees
- Books and study materials
- Living expenses
- Other school-related costs
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a full-time undergraduate student currently in 100 or 200 level
- Must be enrolled in a Nigerian university accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
- Must have scored a minimum of 200 in the UTME
- Must maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 5.0 scale
- Must not already be benefiting from any scholarship offered by an oil and gas company

Applicants are expected to upload clear copies of the following documents:
- Recent passport photograph
- UTME result
- Admission letter from the university
- School ID card or valid government-issued ID
- Academic transcript or result showing CGPA
