SUG President Declares Sit-at-Home in Anambra
 

The Students Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has declared sit-at-home for all students of the institution.
 
This decision, according to the union, is to press for their demands from the school management.
 
The Students’ Union is requesting a reduction in the school fee schedule for the 2022–2023 academic session.
 
The SUG president, while addressing the students, said they want a reduction in School fees, Bank charges, ICT fees, Prices of textbooks,  ICT fees, Alumni fees, Medical fees, and the scrapping of portal clearance, among others.
 
A student of the polytechnic who spoke with POLYTV reporter lamented the cost of textbooks at Oko Poly. The student said, “We spend over #20,000 on textbooks per semester, and it is compulsory.”
 
According to the video obtained by POLYTV, the SUG president has declared that all students should sit at home and that no student must be seen in the polytechnic campuses until further notice.
