3RD RAMADAN LECTURE HOLDS AT FEDPOLY DAMATURU

The 3rd Ramadan lecture organized by the Federal Polytechnic Muslim forum held on Saturday at the Polytechnic lecture theatre.

Mallam Sani Galadima, the forum Chairman, while delivering a welcome address states that, the lecture series is use to be one of the activities line up by the forum annually during Ramadan fast.

He therefore admonished the attendees to give attention to the lecture with the view of deriving something fruitful out of it.

The lecture titled ‘ ‘LAST TEN DAYS OF RAMADAN IN QURANIC PERSPECTIVE’ was delivered by Professor Muhammad Mustapha Adam Jatkawi of Yobe state University Damaturu, who gave emphasis on the observance of late night prayer( Qiyyamul layl) for Layltul Qadr( night of power).

This according to him the night of power is expected on odd days starting from 21st of Ramadan, but the expectations of the day according to him are very much on 27th and 29th as people tightened on these days.

The Sacred night according to Professor Jatkawi is believed to be the night when the Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H).

He said during the night prayer, it is expected for worshippers to seek for forgiveness and blessings.

The University Don, pointed out other recommended actions during the last days, ranging from reciting of the Quran, especially Suratul Qadr and reflect on it meaning and significance, making of Dua to Allah , seeking forgiveness, guidance and blessings for humble self and others and praying for the nation. Dikr ( remembrance of Allah) according to him is amongst ,this is by using phrases such as Glory be to Allah,praise be to Allah and Allah is the greatest and Dua for blessings and reward.
