The Chairman of the Academic staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Moshood Abiola polytechnic chapter has advised students to disregard the news trending in some speculated areas that the chapter has declared strike action.
According to a statement obtained from ASUP- MAPOLY chapter, The news is fallacy and untrue thereby advising students to continue with academic activities.
He said,
“As you are well aware, the National ASUP has made it clear of its resolve to go on strike.
“However, MAPOLY as a State-owned Polytechnic, is currently faced with its peculiar situation and certainly not enthusiastic at joining the strike as for now.
“In any case, there had been no congressional decision yet to join the strike.
“As such, the mischievious rumour been peddled by some students that Mapoly Chairman had declared to join the National strike cannot be true and should be disregarded.
“The peddled document is dubious and must have been an extract from a declaration made on previous strike action.
