ASUP STRIKE: EXAMINATION COMMENCE MAY – ILARO POLY MGT

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, has said that first semester 2021/2022 examination which was put to hold due to the two(2) weeks warning strike by the Academic staff union of polytechnics (ASUP) will now commence on Monday 30th May 2022.

This information was contained in a circular dated 16th May 2022 which reads,

“The Academic Board at it’s 199th Emergency Meeting held on Monday, 16th May, 2022 reviewed it and updated the academic Calendar accordingly.

“The Board directed that the 1th Semester Examination for 2021/2022 academic session which was put to abeyance due to the Academic Staff Union of polytechnic (ASUP) 2-weeks warning strike will now start on Monday 30th May, 2022 (I.e after the  expiration of the warning strike on  Saturday  28th May, 2022).

“The students  are once again advise to utilize  this period for worthwhile activities towards improving their academic performance and get prepared for the examination adequately.

“All this stakeholders  are to ensure that necessary preparation toward the examination are put in place.”

ASUP on May 11th declared two weeks warning strike to call on the attention of federal government to implement the agreement in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with them in 2021 which include the release of 15bn revitilzation fund.
