School of Health Information Management, University of Uyo (SHIM) Courses, School Fees

School of Health Information Management University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, PMB 1136. Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
In any health institution, Health Information is used for planning, monitoring and evaluation of Health care delivery services. It was on this note that the Management of University of Uyo Teaching Hospital deemed it necessary to establish the School of Health Information Management. It took off on August 1, 2005.
The School was established, to train Information Managers. On the 13th December, 2005 the Board accreditation team (Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria) visited the school and accreditation was given for the take-off of an OND Programme and Mr. S. B. Affiah, ADHIMS (retired) became the pioneer Head of School. Since then, the academic activities of the School have been going on smoothly.

The school runs a two-year National Diploma programme (4 Semesters) i.e 2 semester per year for freshers and one year programme for direct candidates i.e students who have done two years already in School of Health Technology. The school admits candidates between June and September every year.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
- Candidates must have obtained the minimum entry requirements of five (5) credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WASCE, GCE, SSCE or NECO in the following subjects:English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry or Physics and any other subject.
- Candidates must have attempted the current year JAMB examination. Possession of the National Certificate in Health Information Science obtained from a reputable Institution in addition to the above will be of advantage.
